WHAT ARE CHEMICAL PEELS?
A chemical peel is a cosmetic treatment that involves the application of a chemical solution to the skin in order to remove the outer layers of dead skin cells, revealing smoother and more youthful-looking skin. The procedure is commonly used to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, acne scars, and other skin blemishes.

PROCEDURE
Cleansing
The skin is cleansed thoroughly to remove any dirt or oil.
Application of Chemical Solution
The chemical solution is applied to the skin using a brush or sponge

Neutralization
The chemical solution is neutralized using a special solution to stop the reaction and prevent any further damage to the skin.
Post-treatment care
After the peel, the skin may be red, swollen, and sensitive. Patients are advised to avoid direct sunlight and to use moisturizers and sunscreens to protect the skin.

TYPES OF CHEMICAL PEELS
Superficial peels

Only performed by trained dermatologists and carry a higher risk of complications than superficial or medium peels.
Reaction time
The chemical solution is left on the skin for a specified amount of time, depending on the depth of the peel.
